The Importance of Respecting Opposition

I think there's an admixture of both the noble and ignoble reasons for it. And so I want to engage people on that in a respectful way. It's certainly true that the dominant paradigms for thinking about same-sex attraction and behavior and antiquity were quite different than the dominant Paradigms in the church today. In very few people would be passionate about creating greater acceptance for that. Studies and sexuality around orientation, that's creating new categories that wouldn't have applied in biblical arena.
