Algeria, You Don't Need a Guide

Algeria is one of the few contries where you do need a guide, but actually it's quite good. The only time i spent in algeria was when i accidentally crossed into algeria and was lost. But that was the full extent of my algerian experience. I'm very difficult to travel too now, with the human traffic eelements and the ar not quite settled states of the government. It'll take o thing for me to come back - there are still so many unexplored areas out there. And if you like the desert, Manoal may be your best bet.
