The Green Bullet
Montag goes home and finds that his wife is hosting two of her friends around. He tries to engage them with what he sees as civil conversation, but they are not interested. So Montag grabs a book of poetry and starts reading it at the party. One of the women is so shocked she begins to cry when he reads Dover Beach by English poet Matthew Arnold. Mildred tries to dismiss Montag's action as tradition. A tradition that firemen act out once a year. They find an old book and read it as a way to make fun of how silly the past was.
