Sudan power struggle risks turning into civil war
The Rachman Review
Introduction
This week we'll be looking at a forgotten war, the war in Sudan. In mid-April a bloody power struggle erupted between the Sudanese armed forces and a paramilitary force known as the Rapid Support Forces or RSF. The conflict has its own complicated roots, but it has also been stoked by outside forces from radical Islamist ideology to Russia's Wagner Group. Our guests are Sudanese political analyst Khaled Khair and Alan Boswell of the International Crisis Group.
