What Is Political Secularism?

secularism as a concept tends to refer to at least three particular things. But the three ways that i focus on in this book tend to revolve around political secudarism, which is how nation states will invoke the idea of Secutarism into their national identity. And so when thinking about secularism in our contemporary context, you often hear this idea of state neutrality being invoked. The reality is that certain groups are always privileged over others. One of the ways we see this play out is with controversies and conflicts over religious symbols.
