Rebecca D'Zon Ross: There's a lot of focus in developing countries on female empowerment initiatives to try to empower women. She says this could be self-perpetuating because if you empower women, that means the household overall might spend more on their daughters. And so it will be this cycle leading towards greater and greater gender equality over the generations.
