The Fractal Noise Cover by Christopher Paulini
Fractal noise by best-selling author Christopher Paulini revealed its cover, and while plenty thought it looked cool, others said there was something off about it. As it turns out, this AI-generated art that inspired it was posted to a stock art site. And the fractal noise cover is almost identical to the AI art, just in a different color. Tor claims that they thought they were licensing an image from a reputable stock house and they had no idea that the image was AI-generated. Yet they've made no promise about not using AI in the future, which has people pretty disheartened as to how apologetic they actually are.
