The Myth of Pandemonium

Pandemonium, literally all demons, was first coined by English poet John Milton to describe the capital city of hell in his epic poem Paradise Lost. The word panic derives from Pamm, who was the source of mysterious sounds that caused contagious fear in herds. This is where the term scapegoating comes from, a psychological process in which others are singled out and take unwarranted blame for something. People use others as a scapegoat to hide their own greatest defects.
