The International Consensus on Puberty Blockers
Five countries, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Norway and France now urge caution in their use for minors stressing a lack of evidence that the benefits outweigh the risks. There are still some Western countries that allow the use of puberty blockers in adolescents including Canada, Spain and Australia. The Italian psychoanalytic society wrote a public letter to the Italian Prime Minister just months ago expressing what the society called serious concerns over the use of hormone-replacement therapy.
