The Troubles With Dial Up ISPs

The number of lines available for an incoming call to connect to was a far more precious resource than bandwidth is now much less what it was then. Unless you paid, you could only stay on for like half an hour a day to make room for other people. Because of the way they assigned IP addresses, I would get the first IP address in that octet or whatever because I was the first person to dial back in every morning. That race to get through all your door games before your time ran out.
