The Dangers of Title Volume

There's two populations of patients that I like to ventilate in the 10 to 12 per kilo tautobulin range and they're for different reasons. One is neuromuscular patients and that is to maintain that beautiful title volume maintain that FRC prevent at electasis keep them well above close and capacity, and then the other population assuming that this patient population doesn't have bad lungs is cardiac patients. A lot of these guys need positive pressure ventilation to reduce their afterload but you'll find when you do the math that the primary driver of me and airway pressure is more respiratory rate than it is title volume. It's important to have a backup respiratory rate in these guys
