The History of Shards

Crystal is a new programming language. It uses shards to organize its dependencies and versioning. Shards were created by the Crystal team as part of their effort to create an easier way for people to install software in other languages. The project was originally just sort of a hobby project, but now it's one of the most widely used programs on the planet.
