The Origins of the Owl Bears in D&D
Owl Bears are one of the first monsters ever created for D&D. Their origins date back to before D&D when Gary Gygax was playing a previous game called Chainmail. He would often go looking for figurines at like thrift shops and like, you know, nickel and dime stores. And so the story goes, one time he found a bag that was labeled prehistoric animals in Hong Kong.
