I was actually reading one of his books at the time when this news broke. I found myself saying, yeah, but what was going on in your mind when you were writing these words? It makes me think of a famous, slightly less significant case of this. Years ago, there was a song that became very popular that came out of the Hillsong Church kind of movement. The guy who wrote it and performed it was himself terminally ill with cancer. He would come on stage pulling after himself like an oxygen tank and had a mask on and tubes up his nose.
