The eighties saw a significant increase in the use of crack cocaine. The drug had devastating effects within black communities and inner cities. Ted resorted to unimaginable activities to feed his need. For many it could be hard to empathize with some one like that. But eddiction is complicated. So i turned to denny carese, a clinical psychologist who explained how someone like ted ended up as he did. She said: "We just aren't meant to feel that good cocaine"
