If you do have high blood pressure, common sense says you should probably back off the caffeine. There's some indication that it can improve power athletics and long distance endurance athletics. But if you're not drinking a lot of coffee, I would not recommend you bring it into your athletic performance because it's going to be a big jolt of the system.
