The Last End of Human Life
The last end is the first in the order of intention. It's what moves your will above all. So you wouldn't desire to take the first step in, especially in a series of essentially ordered ends. Unless you were already desiring the ultimate end. And that's why acquiring virtue turns out to be a very important dimension of moving towards your ultimate end.
