The History of Indian Sport
India was not a sporting nation for a large period of time. A lot of the sports that we became good at are essentially a colonial bequest, like weatheris cricket and badminton. The landscape is very different now as liberalization has opened it up. But really, indian sport as we know it started with the brits. And they just thought that it's a better idea that we sort of throw javelins and, you know, kick footballs and hogki sticks,. rather than basicly go to war.
