Sometimes it's hard to tell who is an introvert and who isn't. Introverts need time to think in silence, while extraverts typically think out loud. If you're the person trying to do the persuading, ask certain questions that might give them space to be able to say what they are thinking. Ask about their communication preferences, and that's going to tell you a lot.
