Yard Work - Part One

The idea of a luscious, green lawn wasn't invented by turf companies or unoccupied dats. It actually emerged nearly 600 years ago in the imaginations of european artists. The mediaeval art it was designed to warm up cold castle walls, give something for the lords and ladies to look at. Lawns got bigger and bigger, became signifiers of extreme wealth, and eventually made it over to America.
