The Importance of Good Negotiating Practices
In general, if you follow what I would call like kind of good negotiating practices, which is self-serving. It's not a good way to negotiate if you want to get good results and build rapport with people. There's some cases where asking for another half a million a year would be completely absurd in some cases where it's totally appropriate. If you just accept the offer as given, you will lose status in their eyes on some level.
