The Effect of Putting an Honesty Pledge on Form Filling
The first study was led by Francesca Gino. She and her colleagues were experimenting to see if placing an honesty pledge at the top of a form would make students more honest. All students had to sign the honesty pledge declaring that they'd be truthful. The other half received a reporting sheet with the honesty Pledge at the bottom. That was the variant.
