The Effects of Eye Tracking on Golf Performance
Experts, compared novices, have longer quiet iduration. This means they look at the ball for a longer period of time during t the the preparation for the stroke. Novices don't keep a focused gaze on the back of the ball. They sort of let their movements, jump around and follow the potter as it's move. And often start looking towards the hole before they've even made contact with the ball.
