Pixar - Is There a Big Change in the Story?
The biggest change obviously was Joe became a 40 year old middle school jazz musician who is a black man and an African American man. He's not afraid of it, which is kind of the great thing. Once we figured out Joe and what Joe wanted and what Joe needed, then it started to really lock into place.
