Mother in refers to the experience of mothering and mother refers to the role or the identity, the individual. And so how this may look in a practical way as an example is I can be a mother is a role that I have in my life. It's a way that I identify myself. My identity goes beyond being a mother only, but it is a central part of my identity. The majority of my work focuses on articulating the motherhood because I think that can be a little bit harder to grasp than the mother and the mothering dimensions.
