The Crimean Hanat and the Ottoman Empire

From 1386 onward, Poland, Lithuania also has durable contact with the Crimean Tatars. And this is a very important part of Polish-Lithuanian identity. Around 1650, the Crimean Hanat yields to the Ottomans in terms of setting its own policy. The tragedy of the CrimeanHanat is that they fall under Ottoman dependency at about the same time that the Ottoman Empire itself begins to weaken.
