Exposure to particulate matter from fossil fuels in 2018 accounted for 8.7 million deaths around the globe, 18% of the total. Fossil fuels have been overwhelmingly positive in those two countries. India's life expectancy increased by 16 years even as fossil fuel increase went up seven times. In the US, particulate pollution has declined 70% in the last 35 years because we decided to clean up our act.
