Introduction
Barbara Fridis is a PhD student at the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid. She researches how birdsong plays a role in speciation, the process by which different populations of the same animal evolved to become distinct species. Barbara was part of the team that confirmed the existence of a new species of owl living on Principe off the coast of Central Africa.
