In the late 18th century, how many enslaved African people were being shipped across the Atlantic? It's about 50,000 people a year going across the Atlantic. The conditions were as horrific as one could imagine, I suppose most people would imagine they are. But also the thing which really struck me was how young the people were through being trafficked across.
