The Rise and Fall of the World Baseball Classic
The rules that have been so inviolable for literally a century over even just the last five years have taken a big turn based on a trio of things. One being the world baseball classic in 2017 when the Puerto Rico team played baseball games in big league stadiums against players, their competition from the major leagues. And they had so much fun and everyone loved watching it and no one took offense at it. A couple of years after that, Major League Baseball itself came out with an ad campaign called Let the Kids Play in which they promoted all these young players doing celebratory things but suddenly does that mean they're endorsing it? No one was really sure there were a few mixed signals based on that
