The Mystery of Rita Curran's Death

Beverly, Carrie and Paul return home around midnight to find Rita Curran's body on the floor behind her bedroom door. The 24-year-old had been beaten in the face and head; she was sexually assaulted before being manually strangled to death. There are no signs of forced entry because the doors were left unlocked but police do find a bloody smear on the back door. A media blackout is put into effect that ends up lasting until September 1971.
