I think everybody wants to know before they begin, that it'll be worth doing. I don't tell my agent what i'm working on until about a year in. My books are not really showable to other people for a long time. You have to find your own personal joy during the uncertain parts of the thing. Once you've been through the process a couple of times, and i'm sure this is the same for you, you look at the final and you're glad for all the time you spent.
