The follicular phase, and we look at the follicular phase is you have better nervous system responses. The whole immune system is geared to be more innate and more towards capturing pathogens through macophage. So if you're going to hit it super hard and invoke that post exercise inflammatory response, your body has a better ability of understanding that as an acute response due to exercise stress and overcoming it. But then after ovulation, this is where we have to look at how do we taper it back a little bit - but not actually stop!
