The national security state is more of a function of Wall Street and capitalism just as Harry Truman owed his meteoric rise to the support of the American oligarchy. And so that's the shortcoming of Glennon's work, but you understand why he would leave that out because the oligarchy is so significant in the US. It's like it's too radioactive or scandalous to actually point this out because it's kind of like what Marxists say. So we, Marxists do not do well in the US academia by and large.
