Lionsgate is seeking to demerge, which is in effect say, unwinds a merger that they created in 2016 from their acquisition of stars for $4.4 billion. In streaming, there is an enormous cash burn associated with the business. Investors are much more favoring studio operations that can be arms dealers rather than prioritized shows for their own streaming operations.
