Tasha had confided that over the past three years, Michael's physical and verbal abuse had escalated to the point of danger. Police found a video on his phone made the day he killed the family. He asked Tasha for one more chance to save their family and Tasha never responded. A friend of Macy's told investigators that Macy had purchased a hidden phone where she had been secretly recording her father's violent outburst to help her mother in her divorce case. The main reason for the secret recordings was to prove that her father was abusive and to protect herself and her siblings from having to spend time with their father. Someone from the Department of Children and Family Services had spoken to Macy at school
