Listening Is Part of the Process of Learning
In high school, I would listen to recordings of bassoonists. An emeritus wouldn't have gone to listen to a French player by accident. If you heard a sound like that, it was like, oh, so much resonance and emotion in the sound. It's just not a beautiful sound. Beautiful sound is tied into how you're playing the music. Your sound needs to express.
