Webb's a Six Point Five Meter Telescope

The James webb space telescope has been in development for 23 years. It's the last port of call before it goes into space, but there are still worries about its safety. The mirror needs to be big to have a chance of capturing feeble rays from the most distant objects in the cosmos. Its camera and analytical instruments also need to be sensitive to the infered part of the light spectrum. Richard alis explains why as the universe ages, it expands.
