The Death of the Romans

The great fillers of the third century elite begin to fail, although the smaller estates probably went first. Renovation stopped almost everywhere and grand rooms were converted into practical rooms for agriculture. The result was a slide into the Dark Ages, or sorry, into the early medieval age. In Canterbury in this period we see one of the stranger burials: A woman and a man seated, buried with great care in a pit lined with sand.
