The Canadian government has been in power for the past eight years. The current prime minister, Stephen Harper, is expected to step down at the end of his term on December 31st. In an interview with CNN's John D. Sutter, he said that politicians rarely surrenders power after a certain amount of time. He added: "You never give up power ever, ever, ever"
