The Origins of the Nicene Creed
The backbone of the Nicene Creed is in 1 Corinthians 8, 6. Paul says there's one God, the Father, right? from whom and for whom are all things. And for us, there's one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom we exist. The name Lord, which in the Old Testament refers to the God of Israel, is now assigned to Jesus Christ.
