The El Salvador Article That Got the President's Attention

I have maybe it's kind of a silly question, but if I have it, I imagine anybody listening might also. So when people do these citizenship by investment programs and they obtain a citizenship in another country, does that mean like, let's say I obtaining a citizenship in Portugal, do I have to then give up my citizenship in the United States? There are countries in the world that prevent people from having dual citizenship. They all have exceptions, but if you just go with citizenship by investment program, they won't recognize it. It won't be qualified for an exception and you will have to give up your home country citizenship.
