What Percival Everett Really Loves About Short Stories

Percival Everett really loves poking at our preconceived notions and perceptions. When we get the information that her son died as a child, I was like, oh my God. We have to decide why this woman called this particular man and sent him on this quest. What was her motivation? And why him particularly? That's one of the reasons why I love Percival's writing in this story in particular.
