Thucydides - A Rational Account of the Plague
Thucydides, he witnessed the plague first hand, didn't he? Yeah, he suffered from it. He was in fact a victim. He recovered from the plague. And so he decides to give his account of the plague, and he gives us his absolutely kind of almost day by day account of the symptoms of the plague. It's an extrondishing piece of writing, absolutely extraordinary in terms of the kind of level of observation and the clarity of observation.
