The idea of putting on the giraffe ears is to tune into the other person's feeling. We don't have to be right, because we can always check it out with the person. The miracle occurs at the moment we put on the Giraffe ear, even if we don't say a word. When we direct our attention here to what's going on inside the other person, we take all power away from other people to deplete our moral to make us feel bad about ourselves.
