The Processor's Program Counter
Programm counter is just another ordinary register that holds a single word. It's particularly important because it holds the address of the next instruction to be performed. At each iteration of the execution cycle, the processor will have to send off the address the program counter to the memory as an address. If the right address is loaded in there, that points to the next instruction that you want to be performed, then all is good.
