In those days, we didn't have computer processing. And what was happening was that it was taking about eight months to process the questionnaires and add them all up. The other thing that was really, very seriously wrong with questionnaire surveys is inaccuracy. There could be distortions in this ritual to do with power relations or with opportunism but these could occur across many of the questionnaire interview situations. This was very little recognized.
