Is Your Boyfriend a Moderate Drinker?

I'm 26 years old and I've been out of my parents' house for eight years. In that time I've done everything I can to help me live a life free of the influence of her alcoholism. We talked and eventually figured out what the right steps were for both of us. But neither one of us is happy with the fact that we weren't at the party together as planned. He's deeply saddened that I feel as though I might have to spend more time apart from him. Maybe it would be healthiest for us both to go our separate ways.
