The Distinctiveness of Our Confession of Faith

Our confession seems to have more of a very demptive historical, organic, progressive, revelatory flavor to it. That which is recorded for us in the New Testament, not exclusively by the New Testament itself. In other words, the sufferings and glory of Christ. Why does the Old Testament exist? It exists to prepare the world for the incarnation. And when the New Testament comes, you know, Jesus interprets himself and lighted the extant Old Testament. He didn't cast new meaning on ancient texts. He interpreted himself in light of ultimate divine meaning of the text.
