The Feeling Urgency of Authenticity

In your book, you focus on the felt urgency of authenticity. Can you explain why this is an affordance and not an annoyance or hindrance? We experience that need right now because we don't have a kind of network of voluntary associations to tell us who we are. You've been rendered an individual. And so what authenticity is is the kind of ideological imagining of that individualized state. It's one of the reasons why people come to theological schools.
